| Customer Reviews: Inexpensive - good alternative to the genuine apple iPod/iPhone cable May 20, 2010 A. Imamoto (Chicago, IL) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Don't be confused between this product and the Apple genuine cable for iPod/iPhone. This product appears to use cheaper materials and lacks the Apple embossment on the cable itself. The printed information on the cardboard package is misleading to confuse consumers as if this is an Apple product. Having said all this, I have had no functional problems with this cable for both charging and data transfer between my iPhone 3G and USB2 ports in my hand. In fact, I've got two - as it was a fraction of the price of the Apple cable from the Apple Store. Overall it does well what it is supposed to do. I am satisfied with it.

I received these in record time and am very pleased with the quality and customer service and will order from this site again.
Expensive, but the way to go July 24, 2007 DEREK MCCARTHY (Acton, MA) 1 out of 4 found this review helpful
Good cable & plugs -- durable, guaranteed for a year, et cetera. Don't waste your time with cheap knock-offs.
Does not charge the iPod when plugged into computer, only transfers data July 10, 2007 Paul A. Tepper (Brooklyn, NY USA) 11 out of 14 found this review helpful
This cable transfers data, but it does not charge the iPod when plugged into your computer. If you want to charge your iPod using this cable it is possible, but you'll need to shell out an additional $29.99 for the Apple iPod USB Power Adapter. USB 2.0 data transfer works and the speed is comparable to firewire, so it does perform that function, but I don't understand why it doesn't charge when they make other USB cables that do! Lame.
If you have a PC, I'd recommend getting a firewire card for your computer and using that for data transfer & charging. I was doing that, but ran out of card slots and had to swap out my firewire card for another card - hence buying this cable. But this cable was disappointing.
Bad product quality & not areal Apple cord August 19, 2010 watsonnarc 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I won't buy this product again. Don't waste your time and money with these cords. Pay the money from Apple and get the real cord.
I purchased the Apple Dock Connector cord for my ipods after reading numerous reviews. Many of the reviews warned this cord is not made by Apple as claimed by the seller and that the cord was of poor quality. These are the reviews I wish I had paid more attention to. I purchased two cords. The first cord came apart the first day. The portion of the connector that attaches the ipod pulled apart when I tried to remove the cord from the ipod.
The cord is not an Apple cord. I looks similar but it's not. The picture the seller uses in the product description is a real Apple cord, but the cord they are selling.
Now, a week or two later, I used the second cord. I was disappointed when the first cord broke but assumed it was probably a unique incident and attributed it to bad luck. Nope! Used the second cord today and it did the same thing. Thankfully, I was paying special attention this time so the connector didn't completely disconnect and break so I can use it again. I may try and glue it and I'm confident this will work at least for a while.
Glue!?! Really?!? I'm going to glue my only used once ipod cord in hopes I can use it while longer?!?! I hope it works for me. If you still decide to buy the cord your only hope is Amazon starts to give an option for free Super Saver Shipping and/or free glue with this purchase.
